It's the season of harvest in China.
A "super rice" set a new record of rice crop production in Sichuan. The average crop production from three test fields reached 1251.5 kg/mu (1 mu is 667 sq meters).
In another news, from a single test field of 10694 mus in Xinjiang, a soline-alkali tolerant rice species had average crop production of 573.8 kg/mu. Soil of this piece of land had saline concentration above 3‰ and the pH value was above 8.5.
After rice harvest, the soil will become more soluble. cotton or fruit trees can be planted in rotation with rice.
测产田块在新疆生产建设兵团第一师阿拉尔市六团十一连万亩水稻种植区，处于塔克拉玛干沙漠北缘，为新复垦（撂荒多年）盐碱地10694亩连片种植。新疆农科院测量数据显示，该地块土壤含盐量3‰以上，PH酸碱度8.5以上，属重度盐碱土地。
新疆阿克苏地区及新疆建设兵团第一师稻区面积40万亩左右。在这里，水稻除了用来食用，还肩负着重要使命——作为盐碱地改良的首选粮食作物，洗盐压碱、实行水旱（棉花等）轮作倒茬，改良盐碱地和次生盐碱地、防止土地荒漠化，降低土壤盐碱及减轻病虫害。
国家耐盐碱水稻技术创新中心西北中心主任、新疆农科院粮食作物研究所研究员王奉斌介绍，此次测产稻种采用新稻36号耐盐碱水稻品种，比一般耐盐碱水稻平均单产提高了近150公斤。
“耐盐碱水稻种植技术世界一流。”测产组组长、中国工程院院士陈温福参与测产后说，盐碱地改良的第一年就能实现水稻连片高产，相关技术措施将在现有水资源和土壤条件下，为新疆农业可持续发展提供优化方案。
国家耐盐碱水稻技术创新中心西北中心2021年由科技部批复成立，已审定多类型耐盐碱水稻新品种12个，此次测产配套推广耐盐碱水稻丰产栽培技术，形成以耐盐碱水稻品种为核心，集成生物修复、节灌控盐、调理改土、栽培调控等关键技术措施配套的标准化方案。
测产组成员、中国工程院院士尹飞虎表示，今年水稻的成功种植，不仅水稻实现高产，改良后的盐碱地可用来种植棉花、果业等经济作物，耐盐碱水稻与经济作物的轮播耕作可实现盐碱地长期开发利用，这将进一步挖掘新疆盐碱地综合利用潜力，让盐碱地变良田，低产田变高产田，为保障国家粮食安全作出新贡献。

This is interesting and mildly surprising after reports last year that Huawei has scaled down its operation in Russia. I certainly thinks that it makes sense for them to do so and capture all the local talent. $1B a year in R&D for Russian economy from foreign tech company is pretty huge

It is odd why Huawei stop selling telecoms equipment in Russia, why? Huawei is totally banned by the US anyway, what is the main reason ?
why would Huawei need ppl from Deutsche bank? Its not like they need investors, being a private collective.

1) fear of being cut off in international payment system.
2) had major customer based in Europe.
3) Huawei had many international R&D abroad and want to maintain those talents.
4) Russia is a small market, so they calculate that the risk doesn't justify the means.
5) They're afraid the US want to justify the harvesting of its technology patent by Legal Jurisdiction.
They still hope to get in on the EU market.
why would they not? Do you think only people that do banking work for DB?
If you are huawei, you basically want to collect as many talented people as possible.
