I still can't understand why they have to pause development of railguns in order to focus on hypersonics.
Why cant they do both at the same time?

China has ~20X math aces as the US does. In previous decades, that did not matter as the US could soak up the best talents from all over the world, including from China, with zero competition. Those days are over. America is simply running into hard limits of its own cognitive base, which is rather limited. So, that's why they can't do railguns and hypersonic missiles simultaneously.
About 10 years away. Still a long way to go
I was a big world of warcraft player that pretty much was the meta verse. Achieving things in that game felt like harder work than i do now professionally. Grinding/farming whole summer, 14~16 hours a day to get a dam flying skill and a dragon to fly on.
