Not quite. T-90SA also, and there are some claims that since 1999 Russian T-90 have welded turrets as well. There is no accurate information on this. The only true all welded turret configeration is the T-90M correct?
Actually there are only two turret choices for T-90:Russia uses a casting and welding process for their turret models like the T-90S series.
-all-welded obiekt 187 turret
-all-cast T-72B turret
There are no combined versions.
By the way, "S" stands for the export version.
So?Kontakt 5 came out on the ealier version T-72 BM and T - 90
Kaktus was never meant for T-90, it was designed for future tanks like T-80AT.you do not think that Russia has upgraded to Kaktus armor protection levels for their very own T-90S tanks.
I would still like to see the source.Russia may not be mass producing Relict armor but I do not see why they would not sell the technology to other countries.
You probably do not know, but those rounds do not differ that much. The only DU piece in M829A3 is it's penetrator, which is nearly bullet-sized, the steel-made tail is still vulnerable.Ukraines (Knife armor) approach is reportely able to stop the latest DU armor penetrators, I have my doubts, the rounds like DM53/63 could be in trouble though.
Again, this era has a chance to "defeat" anything given that there is some armor behind. Otherwise it will be useless against M823 and DM53 alike.
