No. There is only a turreted high-powered laser that allegedly disrupts or disables the optical systems of whatever is targeting the tank (LOS ATGMs, helicopters, other tanks, etc.) or possibly the sensors of the munition, if it is already fired (such as NLOS ATGMs). The exact effectiveness of this is unknown, though presumably effective enough such that not only was this type of active defense system retained on the improved ZTZ-99A, but the system itself was also improved vs. the one on previous ZTZ-99Do any of China's 99s have APS?
I'd imagine it would be quite useful to equip a small number (~100) with it so that it's more survivable in situations where tanks are harder to replace on the battlefield (example a landing in Taiwan)
