Hum then learn that when the APU is hit, fuel/inflammable liquid commes out of the "box" and starts an all out fire. Plus the Ammo is evidently exposed on the Bustle...that has at max 20 cm of armor at 2 degrees. Even with the Blow out pannels, the ammo burns out and starts a fire (tank is lost). The Poles never had the full rights of production. Bumar Labedy only assmebled kits! Kits were provided from Romania, Czech republic, there were also Yugo Fotona sights shipped.

multiple sources dissagree with you about Polish T-72 production.

Bustle storage is not exposed, exposed is the flying frying pan manuver of the T-series tanks. if an abrams ammo goes up the crew survives, slap them in a new tank and go back to work. When a T series dies it's crew dies with it.

Ok so ther eis a chance that a rear shot will hit the APU and might start a fire that might mission kill the tank. mean while the T-72 can be taken out form the front with a HMG by shooting the right front fender with tracer ammo causign the unamrored fule tank there to aerosal and ignite.

Is the abrams or any MBT perfect? No but they are light years ahead of the T series tanks.

most soviet tank from T-54 to T-80 has external fuel tank carry of both side of the fender,I recall during battle for golan height,Israel army discover that T-55/62 external fuel tank are highly vulnerable to phosphuse round, when contact it will erupted.

actually the decision to adopt 125mm tank gun was a puzzle, since NORINCO already producing 120mm 50 calibre tank that can fire standard NATO 120mm ammo.

No autoloader for it. The designers wanted a 2 man turret to limit mass, so it required an autoloader. Chinese designers paid attention to mass because of deployment restrictions (for example, the rail cars/rail roads have capcity limits).

But the point is, the tank fits its conditions. I get the feeling that you, as an individual tanker, would prefer to be in a heavily-armored tank that maximizes your survivability. However, from a government's point of view, the value of crew survivability depends on the amount of training one puts into the crew and the political implications of their deaths. Thus high-survivability might not matter for a T-series tank, so that a T-90 may be a bad tank from your point of view, but it's the appropriate tool for the country's economic, political, and security environment.

A good tank crew is harder to replace than a tank. becuase I know my tank can survive almsot anythign form the front I can fight more agressively.

Combat power is not just the machines it is the soldiers.

ie using a copy of the improved autoloader on the T-80U+ for the 2A46M-5 guns and exactly what I said, 560-600mm max penetrator leangth.

RedMecury i got the same numbers (the M829A3's velocity is understanted btw) and that is total possible energy. The longer penetrator allows a more complete/eficent deleivery of that energy.

ZPT-98 tank gun more or less compatible 2A46M-5,I recall back issue of JDW.T-80 tank armed with 2A46M-5 achived first shot, first hit against 3000 meter standard NATO triple target.
