China has developed its own version of the U.S. SADARM (Search And Destroy Armor Munitions). These small (147mm diameter, 204mm long) devices weigh 10 kg (22 pounds) and are carried two per 155mm shell or 40 per CBU-105, 455 kg (thousand pound), cluster bomb. Each of these SADARMs have their own radar and heat sensor that searches for armored vehicles below and destroys them with a special shaped charge warhead. The SADARM sensors can search and attack vehicles within an area of roughly 150 x 360 meters, as they slowly descend.
SADARM, or "sensor fused munitions" were first conceived of in the 1960s, but it wasn't until the 1980s that the technology was perfected. The self-forging metal projectile used by SADARM punches through the thinner armor on the top of the vehicle (including the American M-1). If a target is not found, SADARM self-destructs.

Oh that one...a couple of months back Kanwa made claim that their predictions on Chinese will produce copies of the Russian SADARM munition - the SPBE-D - have become true...

I won't trust KANWA as source they have zero credibility. I am not even sure if Russia has a production model yet. There is talk of experimental 152 mm artilery munition

During late 1993, it was announced that a Russian concern, probably the Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (NIMI), was developing a 152 mm top-attack submunition cargo projectile similar in concept to the US SADARM (see separate entry). Very little information has been released regarding this project. It is understood to be still in the early stages of development and may rely upon the technology being developed for a similar air-delivered munition known as the SPBE-D. Between the mid-1990s and mid-2011 no further information was released, indicating that the programme has probably gone dormant and is unlikely to be resurrected barring a major change in defence posture.Although described as a 152 mm projectile, it has been proposed that the projectile and its submunitions could be produced in 155 mm calibre (see separate entry for more details).

according to december 2009 issue of armour and fight vechile magazine (chinese lang.) type-69 tank use modified M-41 walker bulldog transmission to replace problematic russian design transmission
according to the article they also exam M-48 powerpack and transmission.
likely the tank come from capture south vietnam US supplied tank.

is that muzzle reference system seen in the picture.?
majority of Chinese tank gun that appear in the magazine or in the web appear do not carry muzzle reference system (MRS).this could affect her long range shooting.
