Right now the only successful cooperation looks like it's with seres, AITO brand.



Their management decided against making their own cars for a multitude of reasons. Nevertheless, outside of AITO, Maextro is also extremely successful, selling 700-1000 cars per week at an average price of ¥1M+, which is easily number 1 in China. Stelato sales are also going up now with the introduction of the EREV variant of the S9. Shangjie has yet to release their first product. As I see it, the only real failure has been Luxeed.

China's export in auto sector is electrifying at very rapid pace.
Still, from the perspective of true energy efficiency the focus on one driver to one vehicle transportation seems like a dead end no matter how cars get their energy. This is a critique of cars on the whole as opposed to alternatives means of transporting people. Traffic jams are no fun no matter electric or gas powered.

It would impress me more, personally, if China were to focus on encouraging more rubust rapid public transportation, construction policies that encouraged public transport over personal vehicles, electrification of all aspects of logistics grids (especially solving the final home delivery node problem), and greater R&D investment in green long distance cross-ocean passenger transportation.

are we still at this stage of seeking for praise where any famous American giving praise to a Chinese car is worth posting?

It would seem quite sad if we are.

A world-renowned logistics enterprise recently ordered 300 SAIC Maxus electric logistics vans from Shanghai, which began shipping to Europe on Tuesday.

This marks the largest cross-border vehicle procurement order specifically for the European market by this Germany-based logistics leader.

The newly exported logistics vans feature a range exceeding 400 kilometers, can replenish 80% charge within 30 minutes, and have secured a 5-star safety rating for European commercial vehicles.
