BYD Vietnam to announce to formally launch BYD Tang in October. However, the controversial name of the Tang remains unchanged. Tang is the name of a Chinese dynasty but literally means funeral in Vietnamese. "Would you buy a funeral car?". The company says it understand the situation, but it may take up to 6 months to change the name. It wants customers to experience the car immediately. In my point of view, it might cost too much to change the name for the Vietnamese market is too small.

Funny they brought up the Buick LaCrosse example.
GM changed the name for only 1 generation in Canada, but then stopped caring the next
Probably BYD would change the name if there is a global name, otherwise they will probably keep it
Obviously there are some historical issues with those "kingdoms of the north", but the people who care enough about that are probably buying Vinfast anyway (no matter the quality)
