my peace on BYD SiC usage and adoption on various models.
BYD has hit 2% market share & top 12 in Colombia. It has also hit top 10 & 4% market share in Uruguay.
Brazil is not the only country that it is doing well.
So the EU tariffs by US puppet Von Der Leyen need at least 15 countries representing 65% of population to block
So far Spain, Italy and Germany have seemingly come out against it. Hungary will probably be against it as well.
What are the chances it gets blocked? Or do you think all this effort will be in vain?
If Germany, France, Italy, Spain were really against the tariffs, then it would be a foregone conclusion. I never bought into this "EU" thing, other than that it has been a god-given playground for German business and French influence. One factoid: during its short existence, its GDP per capita has gone from US level to half of US level. It's possible to block with Spain+Italy+previous votes, but there is a lot of uncertainty. No doubt there are plenty of negotiations going on behind the scenes, with Beijing leveraging the odds to try and get a deal. EU rejected the last offer, so they'll need to apply more pressure or offer more sweeteners, or some combination thereof.

Yeah, German cars are still popular in China while French brands quited years agoFrance is not and has never been against these tariffs. They are probably the strongest in favor of them, hence why (French) liquor was among the first targets for retaliation.

Crediting those rear lights to Mercedes will do a lot of harm to the germans.Still won't stop most non-Chinese EV reviewers crediting Denza's design and tech to Mercedes.
