Without making the cars in Brazil proper their cars have high import duties. You will see things change after the Brazilian factory starts producing cars.

Now, I read this over and put my thoughts here. You can see that they have a pretty comprehensive plans. They shipped over pretty much all the cars they wanted to sell in Brazil by July, to avoid the tariffs. They will launch more models and build up the charging infrastructure here as well dealership network.

This isn't a short term project for BYD. Expect prices to drop and sales to go up sometimes next year once the cars start rolling off factory floors in Brazil.

I had been looking for a proper review of BYD Shark since its introduction in Mexico, this is the only one I found so far that’s not too “hype-y”. Basically the reviewers was impressed by the truck but were disappointed with towing capacity and wished it had better brakes and ride quality.

Question on BYD eplatform 3.0 EVO. It claims to be more efficient, yet BYD Seal 2025 did not gain range. Does that mean there are less battery in the car than before? Which ultimately is meaningless of an upgrade.

It isn't meaningless if it leads to the car price going down eventually.

The Japanese brands are declining big time, but NEV adoption rate itself will be as dependent on when they completely gives up vs just natural shift in consumer sentiment. I talked about it here.

The Evo platform may get you 5% additional power efficiency (at best 10%). Much of which could get wiped out by just having a more powerful electric motor (Seal max speed is now 240 km/h) & ADAS suite.

The big gain in the platform itself is the much faster charging speed (especially from 80 to 100% SOC). That allows 10-95% SOC to be used vs (20 to 80%).
