According to several auto industry practitioners on Weibo, Audi has abandoned control of its 4S stores and allowed them to sell cars from other brands. Before this, it has been the consensus of many people that Audi would be the first declining brand in the BBA.
There is simply no need for that.
Because in the Chinese market, foreign brands are rapidly becoming uncompetitive. Strictly due to them being inferior propositions.
And no, Chinese companies can and will thrive in the West too. Simply by servicing said markets with locally produced cars, or moving with the joint ventures we tend to see in the Chinese market already. You cannot put a tariff on that.
Exactly, let China become the sole automobile manufacturer in the world. Western carmamers can export their cars if they aren't able to sell in China. Ultimately, the jobs, profits remain in China. Even if your competition is inferior it helps having them here...Within a couple years I expect utter dominance in automobiles, ICE and NEV both.

BYD has registered more models in Brazil, including U7 and U9. It has great aspirations here
Geely group had 247K sales in April, with 40% NEVs. Pretty good progress here
domestic brands have now hit 63.5% market share in April. You can see the huge changes here. As recently as 2020, they were below 40%. BYD has higher market share than VW and Toyota combined
