And after BYD works hard and gains a good market share he’ll pull it Tiktok and make them divest.
That's no problem. It's up to BYD to decide what kind of risks it is willing to put up with. At least the door might be open under Trump. But realistically, the biggest help Trump might give to China's EV industry is just abolishing IRA and killing American auto industry's desire to innvoate

So in a way the BYD plant is just for a small price to cripple American industry?

I don't think EV will be popular in the global south when they don't even produce enough electricity to power their homes.

But I have seen numbers that Chinese ICE vehicles are gaining massive market share in the global south. Brands like Haval, Chery and MG are the real star of Chinese car industry. They are making rapid gains in many countries including western countries like Australia.

People ignore Chinese ICE vehicles when they are the real big deal in my view. ICE vehicles will be popular for a long time. Chinese car companies will eventually take market share away from western and japanese brands. That makes me wonder if Chinese ICE vehicles will ever enter US market, and if it does, what will be the reaction of the US. Will they allow it, or will they create more barriers.
Hybrids are the future there imo.

yeah. very much people often to ignore Chinese ICE cars expansion globally .. and the most important market those brands captured is Russian market.. main credit goes to western/Japanese companies. and later on explosive expansion made by these Chinese brand. i believe Russian market is the base what they were looking for. now the real game has begun..

Chery Automobile Group's total revenue in Russia reached 50.062 billion yuan (632.1 billion rubles), Geely's total revenue in Russia was 23.91 billion yuan (301.9 billion rubles), and Haval ranked fourth with 21.796 billion yuan (275.2 billion rubles). ; Changan ranked 7th with 10.066 billion yuan (127.1 billion rubles). The total revenue of the six Chinese brands in the Russian market was 105.835 billion yuan (1,336.3 billion rubles), accounting for 47.22%. If Chinese brands such as Ideal, Dongfeng and FAW are included, the amount will significantly exceed 50%..

Not what I meant here. I think trump plans will doom America to giving up any kind of energy transition and related techs

The US will just steal technology from BYD, as they cannot innovative, they have to resort to copying IP and forced technology transfer.

No, they’re more complex, and worse for the environment. Charging is getting so good it’s making them irrelevant. Most people aren’t doing massive road trips all the time, and HSR is better for long distance due to being far more efficient.
Looks like you assume every country has China's level of infrastructure and funding to be able to develop masssive electricity production network and also HSR. Obviously that is not the case. For global south even an ice vehicle that doesn't require a charging infrastracture is a massive upgrade compared to walking. You can easily transport oil in a truck and load up on an ice vehicle, electric vehicles need extremely sophisticated charging network. Which makes it only rich countries can afford it.
