I’m a little worried about over reliance on electric and self-driving automation. What if the electric grid or AI system gets hacked or otherwise disrupted? We need redundancies so if SHTF traffic and supply chain will still function. It’s always a problem of centralization is mistakes from higher up are often catastrophic for everyone below.

It is also the weakest link in a EV system. Currently one of the more common complaints I've seen regarding Chinese EVs is all about the automation, i.e lane keep being too aggressive, annoying chimes etc. At the same time software is also one of those things that are fairly straightforward to update over the internet in comparison so something like a poorly set suspension or faulty airbags.

Win one, lose a million.
One accident, one million normal.

If the electric grid shuts down, there is a lot more than EVs to worry about.

If a mass hack can mass disable autonomous vehicles and cause SHTF traffic what an amazing future we’ve reached! In any case, pretty sure SHTF traffic is also known as “normal” right now.

Gas station fuel pumps also run on electricity. If the electricity grid goes down, people won't be able to fuel up their ICE cars either.
