Weren't there noises about BYD considering setting up a factory in Mexico? I would've thought that the prospect of exporting vehicles from there to the United States would be a significant factor in any consideration of a Mexico factory.
This vehicle seems to be a quite compelling offering and I think BYD should definitely consider bringing it to Australia in time as the "large off-road-capable SUV" segment is quite popular here. That said, I would personally be more interested in the smaller 3 model that was recently announced. It's a pity that vehicle will be EV-only as I do think PHEV is the ideal powertrain for off-road vehicles, at least in nations like mine with poor charging infrastructure outside of the major cities.
