My thought is that it's just $9 million even if they do get fined. But that won't stop all the people from getting upset.@tphuang any thoughts?
That's why people here are adamantly against investing in India. Its nothing personal, its just business. If it can't offer a fair and transparent business environment its no wonder that people are sceptical about India as a place to invest your hard-earned money and to then get it robbed by these charlatans
BYD has sold tens of thousands of commercial vehicles already in India including that recent 2000 bus orders. if it has to deal with some unfair tax, then just charge a little more per vehicles you sell. If risks are higher, the risk premium will be higher
Look into what the charges is & try to avoid that particular charge next time.
All businesses have to assess risk here and do business accordingly.
BYD will not leave the Indian market on its own regardless of what some of you are hoping for.
Also, important to note that since this thread is about NEV rather about riskiness of doing business in India, anything additional in the wrong direction will be deleted.
