Winter in NZ has high humidity unlike other countries, as we get more rain in the winter. For ICE cars, we can crank up the heat exchanger based heater while also having the air con running to dehumidify the cabin. But an EV with a heat pump, you can't have it running simultaneously for both producing heat and dehumidifying. That's my guess as I don't own an EV nor have knowledge of how other EVs with heat pumps solve the problem.

Those doom sayers are probably pro-independence Taiwanese, pro-independence HKer, FLG, and/or other US-paid hanjian contractors. You'll see the same people on XHS shit talking Huawei. Basically any Chinese tech brand that is higher up the value chain/more independent/at risk of becoming independent from Western/vassal tech will be shit talked by the same people on Chinese social media.

China's auto industry has really turned the tables. It's now Chinese auto makers building factories overseas or licensing their technologies to foreign companies.
China’s auto manufacturers BYD and Wuling Motors, and other electric vehicle(EV) makers intend to set up production facilities in Indonesia, reported Chinese tech media outlet IT Home recently, citing Indonesia’s Investment Minister, Bahlil Lahadalia.

"Leapmotor has basically confirmed the signing of memorandums of understanding with two foreign companies to authorize the use of vehicle-relevant technology and technical structure of the entire lower car body [including electrical architecture, battery, and an electric drive system]," the 21stCentury Business Herald reported yesterday, citing Chairman Zhu Jiangming who did not disclose the names of the two companies.
