looks like BYD is doing okay in July among early reporting nations, especially in Sweden, where Atto 3 was the top selling EV. It does seem like they still just lack sales network in Europe. It will take a while for this to ramp up.

Even Geely is doing better.

Putting Dolphin on the market should help, but they still need stores to showcase the cars and have them picked up.

@tphuang any thoughts?

That's why people here are adamantly against investing in India. Its nothing personal, its just business. If it can't offer a fair and transparent business environment its no wonder that people are sceptical about India as a place to invest your hard-earned money and to then get it robbed by these charlatans
Bro at least BYD only supplied ATTO 3 and not produce there the main victims are the Indian dealers ,$9 million is a cheap price to be educated unlike that of Xiaomi.

And also The main losers are the 60 million so called middle class, of them at least 10,000 people can afford to buy a Tesla.

I am fairly certain that Unisoc could design and produce whatever they needed. Instead they prefer to finance Western chip companies. The Chinese auto industry did not learn from the Western sanctions on Russia's auto sector at all.

Problem is that the Chinese EV market is moving so quickly. Yesterday XPeng and NIO are leaders, today they are catching up, and that’s not from standing still. Qualcomm and nVidia are solutions ready today. Companies aren’t stupid though, we already see they have multi track strategies using multiple suppliers (Huawei, Horizon Robotics, even DJI).

Those doom sayers are probably pro-independence Taiwanese, pro-independence HKer, FLG, and/or other US-paid hanjian contractors. You'll see the same people on XHS shit talking Huawei. Basically any Chinese tech brand that is higher up the value chain/more independent/at risk of becoming independent from Western/vassal tech will be shit talked by the same people on Chinese social media.

Sometimes people are just fanboys. I still remember when Zune was touted as the iPod killer, Microsoft Nokia Lumia would be the iPhone killer. I don’t think PRC planted those stories to knock Apple down

This is a welcome change. I've noted in previous comments that Chinese OEMs had a shaky start outside of Volvo (for obvious historical reasons) and MG (loss-leader strategy). BYD is the first Chinese OEM which is gaining ground without either having had a long previous presence or by losing money per unit.

Hopefully more Chinese players will enter the market. The more competition the better.
