Something that's been bugging me about Denza is their logo. It has the same fugly colour scheme as BYD's old blue and silver logo, which makes it look like a taxi logo. BYD figured this out and greatly improved their logo, Denza should do the same.

This is very nitpicky, but when the Chinese EV market is so brutally competitive something this minor can have a material effect on a brand's prospects.

was always just a matter of time I suppose.
Shanghai giga to export model y to Canada. First time it has been exported to North America. I always expected this to happen after the rumors came out about Tesla selling Shanghai production in US

also interesting point here
Foreign brand will likely use Chinese supply chain to build in China export to APAC region going forward

looks like Xi'an jiaoda here developed new truck with more than 800 kilograms of magnesium alloy that somehow allowed weight savings of 1t

didn't know magnesium alloy was so magical

I think I saw a weight saving of a third bandied around for magnesium alloys relative to aluminium alloys, you can imagine what the relative advantage to steel would be. In F1 at least there were always cost issues that hindered more prevalent use, would be very interesting to see if the economics of production in China have made using them far more commercially viable

For BEV, Chinese-owned brands got 2 out of the top 10 spots in Europe for Q1 of this year. It will be interesting if we'll see "pure" Chinese brands gain market share without buying up an existing one like Volvo or MG. So far, there's not much sign of it but I suspect this will change.
Dacia Spring was designed and built in China by Dongfeng and exported through JV with Renault.
I don't think it changes your argument, but another thing to consider
