New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China

What do folks here make of Electric Vikings expose on BYD Atto3 cars developing possible serious rust problems after a few months.
This might be cynical of me, but I wonder if Viking sees the huge amount of views his pro-Tesla videos have been getting and now he's pandering to the fanboys by portraying every other car company as inferior. He's really ratcheted up his Tesla praise and dumping on every other company lately.

Nio is about to face some competition with the launch of Feifan F7 coming soon

If you look at the exterior and features it seems like almost a 1 for 1 copy of Nio ET7
Even comes with free battery swap and charging

The main advantage is SAIC's reputation as a "real" carmaker compared to Nio, and also many people don't like Nio's CEO. Oh, and being 60% of the price helps too

BYD in Cambodia. Got some sales and now working on building local EV charging network. Their export total of 15k in Feb is not bad, but still need to work on improving local network, dealership, financing and especially charging infrastructure before they can make more sales.
The problem of EV in Cambodia is charging facilities. Currently we can only rely on home charging. That creates two problems: first, only those who have private parking space can buy EV, and, secondly, our EV cannot travel farther than battery's radius. In short, can only drive in city, thus only those who already have a gas car will buy EV as a second car. I myself visit and test drive BYD's EV several times but still cannot take the decision to buy an EV for my next car.

This is where something like Qin+ or Song+ DM-i would do well. They need to put those on sale in countries without sufficient charging network.

Traditionally the most important components of ICE cars for carmakers have been the engine and transmission. How hard they were to get right made it so that only the largest carmakers could create competitive products.

Does anyone know if EV drivetrains function the same way? Meaning only large carmakers with a complete, advanced powertrain can produce competitive products, or are the parts (motors, reducers, inverters, OBC, DC/DC, PDU etc) simply commodities that any small startup can piece together to make a decent product? Are EVs going to bring a new era of tons of small car companies?
