Personally I think Han, Yuan plus, Seal are all very aesthetic, and I'd be pretty happy being seen driving in any of them.
Sea Lion may have potential too.
Sorta agree on Han - it actually looks better in life than on photos. But Seal is world-level design, it just 'takes eyes' from other byds when it's present.

The main problem here is that Nio exists - because from et7 onwards all their models are consistently among the worlds' best looking mass market cars, both from inside and outside.

BYD's LianYubo said in 2022 APEC SME Business forum that production is down a little in Dec due to COVID infection among employees. Likely to end year with 1.88 million in sales vs 1.9 million originally projected.

Talked about world wide reception to BYD cars. Like the long line in Thailand one the first day. Compared it to people lining up for new iPhones in front of Apple Store. Apparently, wait time for BYD cars in Australia is now up to 10 months!

BYD can't seem to produce cars and increase production fast enough.

yeah, Seal is their first world beater. It really raised the bar for them. The Atto 3 muscle interior is kind of strange.

But you know going forward, I think Sea Lion will be a great competitor to Model Y. The new Denza UXE looks fantastic. I expect the new Yang wang brand to look great. btw, they have confirmed that it will get unveiled on Jan 5th. Mark the date. BYD has actually been slow with new models in the second half of the year. I expect a flurry in H1 next year.

I think the move into premium brand is necessary to raise the overall brand. BYD doesn't want to just be known to produce cheap cars.

Although for much of the world, Qin/Song+ DM-i and Dolphin/Sea Gull will probably be big sellers.

I'm really extremely impressed with how far vertically integrated BYD is. Given the sanction issues that Chinese firms face, it's refreshing to see a company taking in-sourcing, vertical integration and supply chain management so seriously right from the get go. They are a behemoth in every way. They don't just produce the anode and cathode, but even the copper foil, separator and NMP for the battery. Just crazily well managed. They also do their own Lithium and iron refining.

More from Southeast Asia
Atto 3 with 1k orders in just 10 days from that 1 location in KL in Malaysia. Not as impressive as Thailand but still quite impressive.

With more favorable EV policies, I think orders could increase even more here. Although, I really think they need to introduce Qin+/Song+ DM-i to more of these markets to build local brand.

Also, more commercial vehicle successes in Singapore. BYD electric vehicles everywhere.

Part of that is fear of sanctions yes.

But more importantly, if you're in a new industry, you literally do have to build up everything yourself as there are no existing suppliers.

Interesting here that they put Toyota, Benz, BMW, Ford and Skoda as customers for their battery product, but no sign here of Tesla. Their cooperation with Ford has been quite minimal actually. I wonder what else is planned ahead. Skoda is even talking about leaving China.
