Here is the thing, that previous article about not having OS is nonsense. BYD has a perfectly fine OS and you can see from articles like this, they are able to do OTAs to include all the support people would need. OS is not an issue! On the other hand, looks like the Atto 3 vehicles will continue to improve in the Aussie market.

fyi on Hesai, it's now the largest player in the market
notice how Robosense is lower. Well, they will get a lot larger when BYD still putting them on its cars. At this point, there is plenty of demand. It will be interesting to see how quickly they can ramp up production.

Robosense is looking for another $150 million of funding

This could be critical to the supply chain. Looks like both Hesai and Robosense get laser chips here. I wouldn't be surprised that BYD also gets into Lidar based on some of its investment. It just probably doesn't trust anyone to ramp up production the way it can.

Domestic parts companies (LIDAR, MMW radar, electrical systems) are really important. It's no use selling 10 million cars if you have to import all the most expensive and profitable parts.
Absolutely. It would be disgusting for China to dig up rare earths - destroying its environment in the process - send them abroad and then buy them back again at enormous markups.

You can say that China's auto market is red hot, or the competition is out of the hand.

How is tesla going to send cars to Europe from China by rail. The rail connection through Russia is not allowed.
Chinese brands like byd nio, Geely and others are going to crush Germany's BBA anyway.
AFAIK cargo from Europe to China or vice versa can still pass through Russia just fine. They just cannot unload some cargoes in Russia.
