It surprises me still when I hear Americans who don't even know of Chinese EV brands as if China is late in the game but then that's intentional for mainly political reasons and also competition from foreign competitors want to keep it that way.
There will probably be panic in the media over "CCP infiltration" as a smokescreen to prevent imports of Chinese cars. They will use the excuse that cars these days are full of digital devices. I expect car quality to be degraded in the West over time if Chinese cars are banned.

Nio and other Chinese EV brands can easily boost their popularity by participating in auto shows in the US and other countries. They can also invite foreign car reviewers and KOL to come to China, and review Chinese EVs.
