From the driven, it looks like there is such a demand for EVs that people were just putting down deposits with no clue how good the car is and then are pleasantly surprised at the build quality and interior
Putting things into perspective, Australia sold all of 600 EVs in July and BYD is delivering 1000 at a time. Even Tesla only has sold 4657 so far this year. So yeah, if BYD ends up delivering 1000 a month, it will be the biggest EV maker in Australia. And probably NZ also.
Keep in mind that after over a year of sales in Norway, neither NIO nor XPeng have hit 1000 in total sales yet. Sometimes, it's good to look at markets with less competition.
