of a pre-production sample, including in some unexpected areas such as dynamic performance, but they also encountered significant issues while testing off-road performance, specifically an inability to manage a fairly modest hill climb.

It has been suggested that at least some of this poor performance can be attributed to CarExpert testing an early production sample with unrefined software/firmware, with other vehicles in the local pre-production test pool, equipped with newer software/firmware, reportedly performing better in similar tests conducted by other local outlets. Yet even in this best-case scenario where the issue is one of software/firmware maturity rather than fundamental hardware limitations, one has to ask just whose idea was it to give CarExpert a vehicle with the older software/firmware? CarExpert is the single most important publication in the Australian automotive landscape and their coverage will significantly shape the local narrative around this vehicle. If there are other vehicles in the test pool that perform better in off-road scenarios and are more representative of production vehicles, then give them those vehicles to test! Forget paying influencers to manufacture a local launch event, try just not shooting yourself in the foot....

BYD is about to add a lot of drone support on its SUVs next year. At least N9, Bao-3 & Sea Lion 07 DM-i will be getting it based on latest MIIT filings.

Sea Lion 07 DM-P and U7 PHEV version just look awesome. So much power from PHEV versions

And an avalanche of 2025 version of EVs including new Qin+ EV. nice. Can't wait to see the upgrades

New highs in orders with 120k per week. Last year, they were at 120k every 2 weeks in November. lol, so huge increase.

Also, just many upcoming news which I listed.

so many news after news BYD land

Things are moving so quickly in EVs and especially in software-defined driving dynamics. Such a software update would simply be impossible in a traditional car.

This is a car already for retail sale in Mexico. They were probably pretty confident in the dynamics. Even the best plans don't always go accordingly.

If you want a masterclass in how not to do a product launch, look at the Chevy Blazer EV. Reviewers complained of software glitches like the main infotainment screen turning off. GM assured it would be fixed for general release. Indeed they released the car, critical software glitches like being unable to charge the car were discovered by customers and the car was recalled and a stop-sale order put in place. This is for an car that was supposed to be their mass-market EV.

> For context, I bought the Blazer EV on May 11, 2024. The software is fully updated. It has now had a high voltage system failure three separate times. My dealer told me that I’m not the first customer of theirs that this has happened to.

> My Blazer EV was in service for 29 out of my first 45 days of ownership, and will now be back in service again for the same issue.

Are there any horror stories with BYD vehicles?

what use is a drone for on a car? I'm out of the loop on this concept
well, you can send drone out there to look for a parking spot.

But I think a lot of other use are imagine for outdoor trips where you have drones go out to look for beautiful sceneries that get captured and transmitted back to your screen and you can go check it out, take pictures and more.

A Chinese EV is about 45%, or approx. $30k, cheaper than a European one. Of that, about $1k can be attributed to state subsidies. Without it, Chinese EV is about 44% cheaper.

BYD's global sales may reach 4.25 million and overtake Ford and Honda in 2024.

BYD on track to top 2024 sales goal and outsell Ford, Honda

Aided by robust sales in China, BYD is on course to top its annual sales target of 4 million vehicles, which would put it ahead of Japan's Honda and Detroit-based Ford for 2024.
