interesting. never actually saw this gun being used in any of the exercise videos or photographs. has it been inducted into active units yet or is it still in testing phase? whats the official model name for this gun?

Here's some supposed info on the howitzer, courtesy of Chenium:
国内曾经的前冲机轻型加农炮与二维后坐155毫米轻量型牵引火炮已如过雨烟云。时值今日，最值得期待的就是我国未来的新型155毫米超轻量火炮。
概貌：最新型155毫米超轻量火炮身管为39倍口径，炮闩为螺式加闭气环，由于采用了输弹机，最大射速能达到5发/分。 全炮重3.5—3.8吨，采用了钛合金和铝合金等轻型材料，钛合金材料约占全炮质量的20% 。炮架为H型加前撑，摇架和反后坐装置融为一体，火线高不高于600毫米。全炮能够用东风铁甲越野车牵引或用米171等直升机吊运。
弹药：除能发射我国所有制式155毫米弹丸外，还能发射北约155炮弹。发射普通榴弹为最大射程为19公里，底凹弹为23公里，底排弹31公里，复合增程弹为38公里。发射药为双模块式。还将配备电视成像侦查弹、通信箔条干扰弹等特种弹药。
火控：为简易牵引火炮火控系统，包括火控计算机、弹道计算机、炮长显示控制器和炮手显示器、炮口初速和方位角传感器、牵引火炮间接定位装置。火控系统的安装接口已在设计之初就考虑。单炮能在2.5分内完成射击装备。
新超轻炮从技术角度来看有些类似于美国的M777超轻量型火炮，但这决不是参照和效仿。M777的一些设计现在已经被公认为超轻型大口径牵引火炮的“黄金方案”，我国新超轻炮也采用了类似方案，有那么点“疏途同归”的意思。个人总结为几个“只有”：只有使用钛合金才能保证火炮在重量轻的前提下保证强度；只有采用低耳轴、低火线高才能保证射击稳定性；只有采用座盘贴地才能使发射后座力直接传到地面；只有采用后坐装置和摇架合而为一才能减少起落部分附加重量；只有采用“H”型炮架才能保证火炮重心改变后不至于在发射时倾翻。
新155毫米超轻量火炮在定型后按照惯例将首先用于外贸出口，而后转内销装备我军部队。主要装备于空降兵、海军陆战队、山地部队、快反部队等。
新超轻炮如果进入国际炮兵装备市场竞争，将是美国M777超轻量炮的最强有力的对手，强烈期待中。
Basically has an unassisted range of 19 km, 3.5-3.8 tons in mass; slightly inferior to the M777 in both aspects, but better than the aging 152mm guns. I think it's in development at the moment -- but if they can mass produce this as the new, standard field artillery it'll be quite a powerful force, espicially if we assume it's cheaper than the M777 so more can be ordered.
Over on CDF they're calling it the "AH4".

the entire carriage uses aluminum and titanium ,which comprise 20% of total weight,(the entire gun weight at 3.8 ~3.5 weigh), it can lifted by MI-17 helicopter.
the gun is a 39 clibre ,155mm gun ,like M-777,it uses screw breech,can also fire NATO standard 155mm shell,it can fire new electro optical reccon shell.
Range-19km,rate of fire 5 rds./minute. "boat tail" 23km, base blee-31km, "boat tail"/base blee-38km.
note, I am not sure if the "boat tail" is correct technical term,(or something like that), this concept come from belgian gun engineer name geralf Bull, south africa,China and china,obtain the liscense by ,first use comabt in angola in early 80's,later iraq brought over 200 gun from chile.China also developed BT/BB shell for 152mm,130mm and 122mm . and even 203mm,giving max range of 55/52km(but the 203mm/41 gun co develop by NORINCO and Spain's santa Barbara was eventually abandone.)

the back issue of International defense review,article about the soviet tactics for the suppression of anti tank defense,according to IDR,Soviet military jouirnal surprise admission that there 122mm lethal radius is more or less compatible to NATO 105mm shell, and 152mm lethal radius is below that of NATO 155mm,the only gun that consider to be above the rest was the 160mm mortal.
this is very old issue, problably around mid-80's
