A speculative update on UVLS module length capabilities:
9m: Yu-8A, DK-10A, HHQ-9, HHQ-16, YJ-18, CJ-10, HHQ-26
7m: Yu-8A, DK-10A, HHQ-9, HHQ-16
5m (?): Yu-8A, DK-10A
3.3m: nothing (Tor?)
You seem to be arguing both sides of the fence. You argue that "rumors" suggest the 052D doesn't have 9m modules, but yet post a photo of YJ-18 being launched and stating that this confirms 9m modules, and now you're suggesting that 052D must have 9m modules otherwise it can't even launch its HHQ-9s.A couple of issues:
- We don't know the length of the CJ-10 missile. Sources vary from 6.5 to 8.3 meters.
- The HHQ-9 has a length of 6.8 meters. We don't know if this leaves enough clearance for additional required equipment for cold launch or other capabilities.

BTW, I'd like to see your sources on "6.5 to 8.3 meters". As in direct links.
If rumors are true then clearly the truth isn't that the 052D doesn't have 9m modules. In any case, it also means that 7m modules have no problem launching HHQ-9, unless you're willing to speculate that the 052D only carries 16 HHQ-9s.I was under the impression that the 052D's VLS canisters & modules were of the same size, and hence when we saw the GIF of it launching a YJ-18A, I assumed that all cells would be capable of launching the weapon.
Apparently, that assumption was disproved by statements made by a few credible posters.
Help yourself to those links, but I don't see what's the point considering the gist of my argument was that we don't know the length of the CJ-10.

And yet you sounded so confident before about the veracity of the 16-cell rumor in order to advance a different argument in another thread. Got to pick your poison, because you can't have your cake and eat it too.I'm not speculating anything at this point and neither should anyone else.
The "insiders" have their version of events (i.e. 052D only has 16 strike-length cells), the veracity of which is still unknown. Additionally, if the HQ-9 is really 6.8 meters long, that begs the question of whether they are able to be carried by the VLS of the 052D at all. Since it is all but confirmed that the 052D can launch HQ-9s, this discrepancy brings the credibility of those claims to question.
So, while the OP is generally credible to begin with, it doesn't hurt to occasionally question their claims.
