Unsurprisingly, in keeping with its policy of noninterference in foreign domestic matter, China has been mild in its reporting of the Ferguson unrest. CCTV just reporting the facts, no condescending sermon about human rights.

The official Foreign Ministry statement

“The case you mention is a U.S. internal affair. As the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry I will make no comment on that. But I would like to say that there’s no such thing as perfection when it comes to human rights regardless of whatever country you’re in. We have to improve the record of human rights and promote the cause of human rights. We can learn from each other in this area."

If America can stay out of China's domestic business as well, relationship between the two countries would improve significantly.

Yes, he was a thug, no doubt .. what Obama has been doing is shocking. What the police office is supposed to do when get attacked by a thug (no stop after warning)? ... We all have to trust the system, we all (apart from grand jury) only know a bit here and there and with all emotion attached, the jury have read all the facts, etc ... so they know the whole picture

The County Prosecutor, Bob McCollough has taken the unusual step of releasing ALL of the evidence, that includes testimony, pictures, and audiotape of the shooting, this is a crazy amount of "openness and disclosure" to the general public, showing the prosecutor has absolute confidence in the grand jury, and confidence, that any "HONEST", reasonable person person could draw the same conclusion as the grad jury. A great deal of dishonesty has been shown by the "community" that we saw last night, allowing their racial hatred, and contempt for authority, including Michael Browns family and the president asking people not to resort to violence. This segment of the community may be black or white or Hispanic, but they do not represent the majority of the people of Ferguson. In addition there are many who will question the grand jury, because they refuse to accept responsibility for a young man who chose to "strong-arm" a shop keeper and steal his small cigars, when stopped by Police Officer Darren Wilson, the suspect refused to get out the street, and instead choose to attack Officer Wilson in his squad car, beating him and attempting to take his gun??? it was only logical to assume that Mr. Brown intended to cause officer Wilson great bodily harm.

The grand jury determined that Officer Wilson's use of deadly force was "justified"! That was a grand-jury made up of a cross section of the community, after seeing "all" the evidence? I'm going to trust the grand jury, and you should too!

What we are witnessing in Ferguson is rule of the mob rather than rule of law. The Grand jury had look at the evidence and it is insufficient to indict. More importantly, Wilson’s testimony is corroborated by forensic evidence and I believe there were a number of independent ones conducted.

Every legal case is unique and we should look at the evidence as presented to the court. Sadly, the news seem to focus on every thing else and on opinions and not the specifics to the case. Fortunately The court system indict based on facts and not opinions. Only the mob act on opinions and opportunities, and this is what we are seeing. The system is not broken - the people are.

I applaud your stance against mob rule and standing up for the rule of law!

Sometimes I really envy the U.S. and the American government.

I mean, your policemen can defend themselves with a gun without having to worry about being fired or even prosecuted. Recently there's a case in China where a policeman was arresting a criminal in a rural village, and he was almost beaten to death by the criminal's family and relatives. The last thing he managed to do is to handcuff himself together with the criminal, before he lost consciousness.

Another case in Guangzhou, where a policeman shot dead an axe-wielding person in a densely populated shopping area, and he was criticized so heavily on the Chinese Internet such that his superiors, under public pressure, agreed to "look into the matter" and "give a satisfactory answer". Many Chinese people argued that he could have "lifted his gun an inch" and simply immobilise the person instead of shooting him dead.

Then look at what happens when the HK police uses tear-gases. The whole city went nuts and the Western media is all fired up. Many called it a potential "Tiananmen", many more are anticipating tanks rolling and are criticizing China based on speculation. Both the U.S. and the U.K. expressed "concern" and "urged" China to "behave".

Today thousands of national guards are out on duty to protect important facilities around the country. I hope one day when a riot takes place in my home country, and the armed police is deployed for the same purposes, people, both Chinese and outsiders, do not make a big fuss out of it, or wrongly accuse us for that matter.

I really, really hope that day will come when the U.S. and other western countries can reciprocate our actions and gestures when it comes to domestic affairs.

Well the sun has set so pls pray the demons don't come out and play too much tonight. I'm extra pissed cause my favorite Thai restaurant got looted and badly damaged last evening. The owners should've gotten themselves a few ARs and stood ground. Many businesses in St. Louis are self protecting. You can't always rely on the cops when chaos ensues.
You have to take a stance to protect your livelihood and those around you.

I feel sorry for these innocent hardworking people who has done nothing wrong but simply being a bystander.

Yes I used that word on purpose.

I hope that some of the protesters realise that their actions are doing the exact same things they're going against.

Just curious, since shop owners are protecting themselves with fire arms. What happens if they still come and the shop owners open fire at them, and wound or kill a few of them?
