Movies in General

I've seen B:LA and I think with what's available in the market, this movie will be the most realistic depictions if compared to stuffs like ID and etc. I've also seen Guan Yu's movie and I didn't like it. Adding romance into a story about Guan Yu seemed out of place, and I think Donnie Yen couldn't perform this role well. Guan Yu is more about his personalities and characters(who he is essentially) than his martial skills...so I think this movie was poor. The person playing as Cao Cao did a much better job on the other hand.

Finally I wanna watch Yook Po Tuen LOL...see 3d boobs etc. I'm also looking forward to the movie starring Liu as I am very hopeful she can nail it right. She nailed it as Xiao Long Nui, and I'd think the same for this movie.

Lastly as for the Hollywood comment, my honest opinion of Hollywood is very low. It's an industry that is extremely racist and stereotypical, especially with how they depict Asians, sexualize Asian women and degrade Asian men, and minorities. They are also notorious for destroying foreign originals through terrible remakes. The Departed became a movie which even insulted Chinese, the people who created Infernal Affairs. Anyways of course aside from all that hating, I still loved some classics, like Forrest Gump lol..

Watched "The Lost Bladesman" (关云长) starring Donnie Yen (甄子丹) as the titular title character. Don't like the movie much. Whilst the movie kept largely to the gist of the events, too many changes were made to it that I felt made the movie feel very strange. Particularly after having watched the high budget 3 Kingdoms series not too long ago....

I just came back from Comic Con International in San Diego. They showed a sneak peak of the remake of Total Recall. In this version apparently the world is divided between the US versus China (not in direct names of course). Not sure of how it plays out but apparently the US is planning an attack on the China side. They showed an unfinished CGI of the chase scene through what looks like a Chinese city and they had the straddling bus on the streets.

Is the new Tree of Life movie any good at all?

Went and saw Captain America. He was never one of my favourite comic heroes, but I felt the film was better than Green Hornet and Green Lantern.

Hey guys does any one know where I can buy the dvd set that has all the PLA military parades from 1949-2009?

Online or in the New York City area.

Watched Warring States:



Beautiful visuals and cinematography, but I found the editing/pace spoilt the movie. Fantastic acting by the lead though (Sun Honglei).

Also watched The Butcher, The Chef and the Swordsman:



This is supposed to be a martial arts comedy based on a comic series published several years ago. The comedy portion was quite good, including some bits of black humour. The story has nice twists and turns, good acting and nice visuals (although quite a few scenes were rather dark).

Green Hornet was a bomb. I thought Green Lantern was good, Captain America was good, Thor was good. Did not like the new XMen movie nearly as much as Wolverine before it. Going to see either the new Transformers, Planet of the Apes, or Cowboys and Aliens today with some of my grandkids.
