I wish my Cinemark was like that during Godzilla these was a group of kids behind me flirting and bickering... annoying. I intend to watch it again on Tuesday

There is one near my house. We went once . It was a cool experience. Having lunch while watching movie is cool... :p

Alamo Drafthouse started off as a second-run theatre and they still stay true to that to a certain extent. They still show classic films in "quote along" showings. Shame I never actually attended one of them... yet.

I think the best part about Alamo is still the no-nonesense policy against bad movie etiquettes. I've actually seen managers coming in and giving phone users warning. Three strikes and it's out!

Yep. The staff came out twice to warn people not to use their cell phones while we were watching the Lego movie. Cool!

11 dollar burger and fries is way too much... Luckily they still offer free water, so you stay hydrated during showing.

That's easy to beat.. My wife just carries a big purse with the goodies inside:). Movie theater food is horrible and way to expensive for me. Even if I were wealthy I'd not pay the prices they are asking for refreshments.

On the subject of Transformers... I really don't want to donate the Michael Bay fund for brainless explosion fests, but I am sorely tempted to see this. Just too awesome to ignore.

I like those Micheal Bay leave your brains at the door films..besides nobody is in business to give anything away. His films make big money.

I rarely ever get food at the cinema I get a real meal at the Arizona pizza or the Cheap Chinese stall in the mall food court adjacent to the theater. then sneak a soda or water in my backpack. it's only if I am in a hurry to get to my show that i will spend the money at the concession stands but at $3.75 a 20oz bottle of coke? Yikes. I am amazed they can pull that off. when there is news stand not one hundred feet form the ticket desk that sells them for a still over priced $1.89

I don't go to many films. Too many distractions in the theaters these days. Talkative teens, cell phones, rude people etc etc. If we do go we go on a weekday earliest showing. Wednesday I took my wife to see Captain America. We went to the 12:55 pm showing. We were the only two people in the theater.:) It was great!! I enjoyed the film. So did my wife.

Same here, but I go for the late night shows which does not allow minors since the show starts after nine and ends around 11:30PM. I have a hearty meal before going to the theater and after the show I just hop on a train and get home after midnight. The tickets are only 1,300 yen and I have a small hip flask of whiskey and a small bag of buttered peanuts in my business bag that I carry around to office.

I usually eat, drink, and wait awhile for the food to digest, than go to Starbucks to have some coffee, than use their clean bathrooms before heading out to the nearest movie theater. That way I can just watch the movie without having to ever leave my seat until it's over.

We usually eat after the movies. The only thing that we would get occasionally is a drink. Back in high school and college, we used to sneak beers into the theaters, mainly just for the kick of it. We got caught once. That time, we got cocky and decided to sneak in 6-pack of Corona. As you can imagine, 6 glass bottles are hard to conceal. We had to give the beer to the manager as bribe. He let us go . The only time we actually ate anything at the movies was at the Alamo Draft house. Their fries were actually pretty good.

Going to mention something about the pacing of the Godzilla, so stop reading now if you want a completely "pristine" experience.

I really liked how they teased the fight for most of the film until the very end. It was like appetizers before the main course, which is a nice change of pace from the trend of constantly barraging the viewer with epic scene after epic scene, and burning out the audience an hour in.

That said, I felt like they teased maybe just a tad too much because by the middle of the film, we had already been given the full reveal of the monsters, yet it continued to tease the fights. At that point I was thinking, come on, let's goooo. But the ending fight really delivered.

I wasn't sure if they were going to give him his nuclear breath, or just wink at it like the 1998 film. So imagine my excitement when I saw the scales start lighting up. Watching them charge up was directly correlated to my level of happiness, haha. :p .

I just got done watching Godzilla today and he...is...a....BEAST! It was definitely by far the best Godzilla movie ever made in a long time. I like him, he didn't look too bad at all. I don't why some fan's are complaining that he looks too "chubby" or like that. The fights are good, but so are the sequence and drama leading to it.
