It's probably a combination of said market saturation, and big-dumb fatigue. After so many pretty but vapid action films, here comes another one. And even though Pacific Rim has more going for it in tone and execution, it's still perceived as yet more big-dumb.

Regarding adaptations, it's probably not this, since Pacific Rim is just a genre film, and not a choppy adaptation like that DBZ film.

I read that Christian Bale is mulling over an offer of $50 million dollars to appear as Batman for 20 minutes in the Justice League movie. I think it's going to be a big mistake that the Superman vs. Batman movie is coming out before Justice League with a Batman played by another actor while Henry Cavill is reportedly going to play Superman in both Superman vs. Batman and the Justice League movies.

In other news supposedly the Emperor "lives" in Star Wars Episode VII. Unclear if he lives like Kenobi in the afterlife or as in some of the authorized non-George Lucas involved source material apparently the Emperor had himself cloned.

Has anyone watched "The Conjuring"? Holy cr*p that is one hair rasing movie, perfect for barbers to present to customers.

Do you guys find me strange? I kind of like watching war movies from China and Hongkong these days, although most of them are totally BS representation of true history, but I like the way those generals and fighters kungfu-ing their way through everything ;)

No I don't know that. But I do notice they're still using the modified AK-47 with just better rounds. Why can't they be more creative like in Aliens with the case less rifles?

No, not yet. My sister told it's great with all the creepy images. I saw MAMA and it was pretty good, not as scary as I thought but a good mystery film with the two little girls acted very well for kids.

By the way, shame on television and film writers/producers for their inability to match the complexity and deep character development from a Cartoon series made half a decade before.
