Modern Main Battle Tanks ( MBT )

On active protection systems, I think it won't be long until we see hard counters to them appearing.

A fairly simple concept is to have a lumburg lense (with protective cap so as not to needlessly increase the RCS of the missile) attached to a mini-rocket integrated into an ATGM.

At a pre-determined range, the mini-rocket boosts off, ditching the cap to reach the tank and setting off the APS moments before the ATGM, so that the ATGM hits the tank before the APS could reset.

There are already attempts at anti PAD systems just check the latest Russian RPG models. This is why Merkeva APS equipped tanks still have armor.
The easiest anti APS is numbers. Countermeasures are still one shot deals like reactive armor, once the brick is blown you have an opening.

What I think would be an interesting evolution in the Hardkill APS would be Metalstorm type technologies. If a Tank was fitted with rapid fire multi shot countermeasure stations that would be a game changer.

on my previous post I was referring to the RPG30 Hook, which uses not one but 2 rockets fired from a disposable launcher. The system is similar to the RPG27 but fires 2 rounds the firt is a smaller round meant to cause a APS to fire it's countermeasures this clears the way for the second shot which is a full 105mm tandem charge AP munition. The Israelis claim to have been working on a countermeasure to this called Trench Coat. Which includes a 360* radar and a 17 shot projectile launcher.

Basically for every sword a better Shield for every shield a better sword.
