There is some debate about the Main gun of the Abrams these days. a Number of Tanks have moved to the longer 55 caliber.
The US Abrams, Israeli Merkiva IV, Japanese ( both Type 90 and Type 10), South Korean K1A2, Italian C1 Ariete and legacy Leopard 2 (until A5), M60 series upgrades like the Sabra and 2000 use the 44 Caliber.
And there are a couple guns that are 120mm and sit between like the French 120mm L52 used in the Leclerc or the 48 Caliber Ruag 120mm CTG.
For the Abrams the longer L55 was trailed but suffered from vibration issues. Remember Shorter barrels are stiffer giving more accuracy longer barrels allow more acceleration.

Yes ready for production but at least 5+ years delayed...because

Another procurement official said that, in the most likely scenario, three local bidders would be invited to join the race. “The natural bidders with capabilities to handle this program are Otokar, FNSS and BMC,” he said. He said SSM would formally announce competition for the Altay program and invite bids later this year, “definitely before the end of the year.”

''One of Otokar’s potential rivals is BMC, whose owner, businessman Ethem Sancak, is known to be a close friend of Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. A Qatari investment fund owns 50 percent of BMC. At the congress of Turkey’s reigning Justice and Ruling Party in May, Sancak was elected as a member of the party’s executive board.''

But the Altay is aimed at export, and the Turks want to be totally open to export to whom they please.
The Germans won't do that.
The Japanese Won't do that.
The Ukranians might but only if they can be produced in numbers and the engine can generate the horse power and electrical performance to meet the needs of the modern MBT
