It was struck last year, I think. The recent news talks about the wreck being recently brought by a wrecking company and is about to be dismantled.

Over at CDF a while ago they said a ship was being fitted with reflectors for the ASBM test. If this is it, I guess we'll be hearing more soon.

Amazing news if true, but seems... improbable, based on what has been rumored so far.
Too many holes, and questions left unanswered.
If there was a missile test, why have we not heard of any sort of shipping warning being issued beforehand? Granted such warnings might not have been reported, but surly one would have been issued as a matter of course, so I dare say it would not have been too hard for someone to find and present this warning as back up that a missile test did occur.
Also, if this was a few days ago, why have the Americans kept quiet? They would have been able to detect a missile launch and track it, and would surly be making some noise by now if this was a successful AShBM test? Same thing for Taiwan and Japan.

This makes me think all the more that it certainly was not a test of the missile.
If they were going to live fire a missile into those waters...they would have cordoned off the area and kept other vessels away and we would have known about this back when it happened.
Sorry, too many inconsistancies and too many unanswered questions.
This whole thread strign of posts should be in the thread where the DF-21D has been discussed, or in a seperate thread about this vessel and its sinking.
People are saying that it sank quite a while back and that some company is now salvaging it.

The news is from last year. but it still doesn't answer why the ship need to be fitted with radar reflector in first place if they are going to sink her?. The ship is large enough for other ship to pick it in their search radar. So navigational aid is not the reason.
We know the ship is sunk by what we are not sure.

China conducted a couple ASAT tests before it scored a hit and the US mentioned nothing about the previous before. We will see.
