whoa! This is even more expensive if u bought it in Hongkong or even in Singapore.

If u have the chance, maybe u should go the Hongkong:p

i was going to drop in at singapore to visit a niece whose been living in malaysia for the last few years but she has now moved back to perth about a month ago.

the sony erricson was only released in NZ just a few weeks ago an retails in the phone shops for 1200-1400 nz dollars thats 6-7000 yuan so i could have saved a minimum of 1000 yuan

however for a cost of 440 yuan i am now the proud owner of a saga phone made by shenzhen nouol digital:)

i wonder what its like or how long it lasts

Whoever is purchasing a mobile or going on a plan with a provider. Don't choose the Samsung F480. It constantly freezes, touch pad consistently doesn't respond even if you stab and break your fingers on them, when youor trying to read a text page it keeps flickering on the previous one then the previous one. A personal bad experiance with Samsung twice now with their handset, so far Nokia is my personal preferance after using Samsung, Nokia, Erricson. Haven't the chance of using any Chinese handset personally due to it being unavailable in Australia.

Ive currently got a Samsung Touch a dont know if its the 480 but i only had it 2months and its gota 5meg camera, which i find disappointing. it doesnt have all the features one might expect to find on a reasonally good mid price digital camera, therefore the 5meg camera is wastedm, and it doesnt even have a flash. some of the complaints youve made are strikingly famliar with my phone, and that was my second plus one handmedown samungs, samsung phones are stink

Edit
What I mean by no flash I mean not a proper one, theres a very bright lighthat immitates a flash when extra light isneeded, but subsequent photoes taken under these conditions are rubbish. with little ability to finetune adjustments on the camera side to get a better picture, thats why they may have well stuck to a 2meg camera for all the use the 5meg one is

Hmm. I have a SGH-A707 from Samsung and it's fine, really robust, although ability wise it isn't great.

Speaking of counterfeits, has anyone had the chance to check out the "Orange" in China?

Actually I did try a few China make Iphone counterfiet. The OS is amazingly similar to the real iphone. The main difference is the touch screen. The real iphone uses a capactative touchscreen while most counterfiet uses the cheap resistive touch screen that are not very responsive unless you use a pen or something.

One of the iphone counterfiet even have the ability to insert 2 SIM card. And many boast to have better cameras (2+MP).

But, take my word... these counterfiet are nothing but counterfiet and they are not as good... they hang once in awhile and things like that.

Actually, check out the following video on a handset call the Golden Apple (a ripoff from Apple's Iphone).

I feel that this is a much better representation of Chinese creativity than another iPhone clone.

LePhone by Lenovo

This one shows LePhone much better, complete with various videos. Its got built in Chinese language social networking apps and services from different internet companies in China.

Actually, the Lenovo are Andriod base product, which mean the OS is already more or less standard.

However I think what could better be seen as an individually developed Chinese Apple Lookalike is the following,

The meizume obviously is a good Chinese brand, the price for their phone is not cheap either. And had really superd reviews... excellent and responsive OS. It really is a cool phone to have.

Whats it the counterfeit off
The Apple's iPhone. My old classmates boasted that they had capabilities that even the iPhone didn't have. (No surprise there. The iPods always have less capability than competitors. They just look and feel good.)
