An advantage of scientific Chinese is actually how simple it is. Scientific vocabulary in Chinese only uses easy characters. Once the volume and quality is there, the users will soon follow. for physical sciences and engineering, every scientific term has long had a Chinese counterpart. CS falls behind a little, admittedly.
Fun fact: Qian Xuesen himself was responsible for coming up with many of the official Chinese scientific terms and he did an excellent job, he very deliberately aimed to give them a more Chinese and literal feel. Some examples:

I don't think so. Eventually, it may become required to mainly use Chinese internationally, but having 2 separate systems for now, scientists can publish on (Chinese and English) allows China to retain scientific knowhow better.
The problem is Chinese scientists are still first publishing their research in English journals, thereby reinforcing English as the Lingua Franca of Academia. The only way to break this cycle is to reward/force top tier researchers to only first publish their high impact papers in Chinese flagship journals.
The arrogance of the anglo prevents them from studying Chinese and actually learning something from China; if you'll notice and German sinologist Thorsten Pattberg has pointed this out, that the West tried to commodify and steal aspects of Chinese culture and science so they can trademark and own it and they do this by re-defining Chinese terms away from its original intent and meaning to a more western conceptual way of thinking.

Let's talk about intent for this article. Clearly this was aimed at reducing Bi.den's credibility. The target to me seems to be self described middle class moderate muricans from the Midwest who claim to have very family centric values. We'll call this the 'heartland demographic'. They form the foot soldiers, both literally and figuratively, for the empire.
