I agree with you, but we need to be patient. English has been the de facto language of science for more than a century, and for good reason. When Chinese scientists produce the majority of the world's scientific breakthroughs, and I believe that day is on the horizon, it won't be long before China replaces English as the de facto language of science.Honestly I think this is not a win. Given China has the talent to produce top quality papers, why should Chinese researchers publish them in an English journal? Chinese should be confident and have a flagship research journal in Chinese only.
Chinese researchers citing each other's English journal papers even though everyone is Chinese is pretty cringe.
