Ukrainian saboteurs may have destroyed Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline: Reports

Ukrainian saboteurs may have been involved in the destruction of the Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline that was subjected to intense shelling earlier this month, according to classified German defence ministry documents accessed by The Bild.

The report, citing experts from the German defence ministry claims that Ukrainians are sabotaging far beyond the line of contact in order to weaken the Russian forces. The report notes "participation of the Ukrainian side in the destruction of the pipeline [Togliatti-Odessa]" cannot be ruled out. It added that the facility was located in the territory controlled by the armed forces of Ukraine.

Shocker. Ukraine doing something and then blaming Russia for the 10 trillion time in a row. I wonder how long before the headlines “Ukrainians may have blown up the dam” appear over the next several months.

I know it's just words and they don't mean anything without action, but just by saying this Blinken made many people 破防 today. They're all talking about it in Taiwanese news right now. Imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and it was Li Qiang who went to the US and after a meeting with Biden said something reconciliatory like this, how would you feel?

Generally on the topic of if there were any concession from the US or not I think the best way to judge is watch how other countries act, as their leadership have access to intelligence that the public doesn't have access to and so we can get an idea what happened based on their actions, and well:

Around the same that that Blinken touched down Fumio Kishida said in a speech that he would like to visit China. Imagine how Yoon feels at this moment.

There was a statement like this last year when Pelosi was going to visit Taiwan.

I'm not sure about the implications of this given this comment seems to come out not as a result of an almost-crisis, but I would still chalk it as a "win" in the Chinese column, given what happened last time with Pelosi's visit.

Western MSM and Pei obvious have no clue that when push comes to shove, China can close off the Taiwan Strait based on UNCLOS.

Antagonizing China will only accelerate EU's deindustrialization and decline.

The idiot being idiotic:

Such baseless accusation and paranoia will send Chinese-Americans to internment camps some days.
I never realized Michael Yon was such a kook. It puts my recollection of him as a frequent guest on left wing talk radio in the early 2000's in a new light.

South Korea decides to respond to China by borrowing the US's tactic. Begging from a position of strength.

Btw not sure if anyone noticed but Xi said 宽广的地球,容得下中美, instead of the previous 宽广的太平洋,容得下中美. Looks like the MFA China North America division needs to re-brand again :)

The rhetoric among American officials have already reached the level of Putin and Medvedev during Feb 24 last year.

So saying (and lying) about not preparing an invasion of China is now unacceptable in the American public?

Better for Americans to stop lying and just come and try. Only personal costs to American families can cure Americans from the disease of stealing others' stuff.

Not enough of the Chinese public is taking America seriously enough. Every person, from the youngest to the oldest, need to understand, and hate, the American threat. Only then can China work as a cohesive unit to prevent American invasion, and through that, American world domination. Anything short of that will make at least some Americans believe that they can pull off a Crimea moment on the unsuspecting and disinterested Chinese.

The people's political outlook is never organic, it is always manufactured.

You are so very correct. In business this is called expectation management - you under promise and over deliver and everyone gets a warm fuzzy feeling. You over promise and under deliver and everyone shits on you even if what you delivered was actually decent, see I don't know, Cyberpunk 2077.

Even though we know it's all hot air at the moment, because the MSM has been selling the whole "US and allies are all in on rule based order and we have China on the ropes" when Blinken gives this speech it gives everyone over there whiplash. Worse still all the other lies and internal mechanisation now gets mixed up in this and we get:

You guys get offended way too easily. China is master at talking. It can talk and talk until the end of time

Its current number 1 strategic objective is to stop/delay a war as much as possible and to buy time for its rise.
As long as this objective is being achieved Xi can be drinking and laughing with Marco Rubio for all I care

As long its only talk, no damage is being done except for some hurt feelings by people who don't have a comprehensive strategic overview of China's priorities at this moment of time

Example here. Dignity and honour means shit all in front of power. Let Germany play its stupid games, let them stay coupled with China for now, and lets collect back the debt with interest after 10 years. See the stats about China's power now, and then project the stats about China's power for the next decade.

Baerbock and Scholz are dime a dozen, they come and go, even Xi will go sometime. But at the end, hard power is what matters

Not to mention it's always important to hear what the opponent is saying and thinking. Even though a lot of what Blinken said is planned and scripted, it still provides insight on U.S.'s strategy towards China and what the next move will be. Cutting off all communications also means losing out on valuable intel.

That being said, I think the Chinese side is pretty clear on refusing to establish military to military communications and dialogue with Lloyd Austin. That is a separate issue where U.S. is essentially trying to get China to accept rules of military engagement (e.g. pushing China while at the same time telling China not to respond).

It's ironic the U.S. even mentioned their military to military communications with the USSR during the cold war, cause they are trying to get China to play the same game.
