Marcos Jr talks about 'evolving' ties with the US over not just defence, but also on economy, tourism, and health care. I must ask what is he smoking? The US? Bringing economy, tourism, and health care? This is 2023, not 1993.

PH enhancing ties with the US is gonna put it on the road to war. What good is the economy, tourism, and healthcare from the US in a war?
Healthcare means PH nurses looking after US boomers. I think Tourism refers to visa free travel.

This is not correct comparison. The kind of weapons that Ukraine wants or need are not the ones that Western MIC invested recently.
look at Japan and Australia orders of Tomhawk missiles. Correct numbers will be classified as this military procurement
I still think is a correct comparison given the security situation of China which is closer to home and mostly concentrated. They could keep the numbers classified all they want but all will depend of the speed and quantity that China could make their own, if they will able to make cheaper and faster alternatives to grind the stockpiles of their potential adversaries in a long protracted war.
South Korea has own missile systems and i am sure they are benefiting from R&D and Parts of much larger US supply chain . since export numbers are getting larger. it is easy to assume that US production capacity is getting bigger.
That is a double edge sword on its own if the supply chain is so sparse then is vulnerable to disruptions like a pandemic or shortage of materials, the Chinese military supply chain they have almost everything at home including military chips, which by the way CETC could supply without the need of going to fabs like SMIC or HHGrace . The other problems are prices and overcomplexity, there this tendency in Western military contractors in creating overprice complex systems that they market as superweapons, the problem is that they can just make a few at any given time and the price is so high that the militaries can only afford a few. The switchblade hype come to my mind, marketed as a superweapon by MSM has been overshadow by cheap Chinese drones with grenades attach to them.

My two cents.

Is a really weird situation because I think when interest rate are higher deposits rates are higher too so people would want to keep their money in the bank instead of other investments.

I think its a combination of people moving their money to safer larger capitalized banks, banks offering higher savings/cds rates. or just tossing money into brokerage accts like vanguard that defaults your cash into money market funds yielding 4%+.

If they are "post-Soviet" then China is "post-Mongol" as historical maps show a clear shift that occurred under the Yuan dynasty which was as pivotal for China's history as Qin was. And arguably Mongols had greater impact on China than Soviet and Russia occupation had on Baltic states.
First thing first, replace "Mongol" with Yuan, then you will be 100% right about China. However, we don't have problem of being the successor state of Yuan dynasty, nor are we offended by being reminded so. We regard Yuan as a legitimate Chinese dynasty. This is the fundamental difference between you and the Chinese. BTW, just in case you may argue for propaganda, it is NOT PRC who said Yuan is China, it was the Ming dynasty which replaced Yuan put Kublai in the imperial shrine for worship. You see, we Chinese don't see the state and people through a racial lens.

Although you have rightly pointed out that Yuan dynasty had a great impact on the Chinese history, you are wrong in saying "Mongol impact on China". Just so you know, there are more than twice Mongolians being in the Chinese family than Mongolians anywhere else. How much does China has impact on the Mongolian population do you think? It is nothing to be shamed of, or to hate about.

On the other hand, you Europeans are on the totally opposite side. You seem to know a lot of Chinese history, but you lack the very fundamental knowledge about China which is "we are not you". It is ignorant to project your feeling and way of thinking on the Chinese.

USA has been smart and made European exhaust first. They are not going to commit yet. Next up Korean stockpile, Israel, and Japan. Goes against Taiwan strat but American is dodging the payment. The war needs to drag itself to force American commit or give up, either way is a win.

Bonus: If they exhaust Israel it makes Saudi-Iran coalition ready to strike. Iran can do the ground stuff, Saudi could get Chinese 5th gen fighters. American once again will be baited in.

Found a good graph which better conveys what mean when I say that the road to displace the American Empire is going to be a long one. Big progress has for sure been made, but we still got a long way to go.

Those are not their "allies" as they like to claim. You can see that they are scared, that is why they are including vassal states as allies.
