Also indirectly weakens Taiwan by letting Ukraine eat all exports.

Here we thought US wisened up by not doing unwinnable war.

Next up maybe Israel, right after Ukraine. Another 3 years of exhaustion. Then US will find itself having no money, no stockpile, and unable to print itself out of debt. If they are still suicidal on Taiwan be my guest.
I don't know about the USA, but for European militaries replenishing the stocks will take 5+ years at least.

USA has been smart and made European exhaust first. They are not going to commit yet. Next up Korean stockpile, Israel, and Japan. Goes against Taiwan strat but American is dodging the payment. The war needs to drag itself to force American commit or give up, either way is a win.

Bonus: If they exhaust Israel it makes Saudi-Iran coalition ready to strike. Iran can do the ground stuff, Saudi could get Chinese 5th gen fighters. American once again will be baited in.

Europe is pretty much reduced to an extension of the USA. Especially Eastern Europe. What can I say? Good luck to Baltics, Poland, and Czechia with millions of Ukrainian refugees.
Honestly, the Baltics, Poland and Czech Republic are some of the worst kind of personalities (as countries) to ever exist.

Hell, even Jai Hind Supapowa India actually have some dignity and standings of their own.

Meanwhile, those chihuahuas of Eastern Europe only knows how to bark up the massive bear (and now the rabbit across the landmass too) on the orders of their bootlicking masters across the English Channel and Atlantic. Having their bootlicking masters' supposed "backing" (actually more like a leash around their necks) has made them overtly confident and arrogant fools.

But then, we all know that other than being the useful idiots of Uncle Sam, none of them are equipped with the necessary population size, financial prowess, industrial power, technological foundation and potent workforce that can make them comparable peers to the likes of regional powers i.e. Germany, France and Japan... let alone global powers i.e. the US and China.

(Ffs I actually ROFLed in a library when I saw a tweet thread by some well-known Pole claiming that cHyNa Is A mAkEsHiFt SuPeRpOwEr" and Poland is ready to succeed France and Germany as the "nEwCoMiNg SuPaPoWa Of EuRoPe".)

So, yeah, make of what you will.

Ukraine war dragging on for multiple years in a quagmire has benefits for China.

1. It distracts the West from fully concentrating on China.
2. It weakens Europe which weakens the overall US+Europe block when they eventually gang up on China.
3. It makes Russia depend on China for its prosperity thus strengthening the Russia-China relationship.
This is why China is in no hurry to take back Taiwan by force.

"Sun Tzu's The Art of War" is the most important military work in China more than 2,000 years ago.

On the surface, he taught the Chinese how to win big battles, how to win more with less, and how to defeat the strong with the weak.

But if you study deeply, you will find out. Its content is not about the method of war, but the method of avoiding war; not the method of how to win the war, but the method of not losing; not the way of winning more with less, but the way of winning less with more.

For China, it's like a jungle adventure. If you have enough food and self-defense weapons and the road is in the right direction, then just keep going and wait for the opponents to go the wrong way and fall into a cliff, trap, swamp and be seriously injured or die; or have to ask for help after consuming too much food and equipment ; then you win. In the process, you don't need to kill the opponent, or even cause unnecessary trouble for the opponent.

Of course, people who are used to living in the "garden" will not understand.

Marcos to discuss ‘evolution’ of PH-US military pacts with Biden

Marcos particularly mentioned the 1951 Philippine-US Mutual Defense Treaty and the 1999 Visiting Forces Agreement.
“We have to evolve it. It has to evolve because there is a need to adjust them because there is really an evolution, there are also changes in the situations we are facing here — in the South China Sea, amid the events in Taiwan, North Korea, all of these [where] the situation is a bit simmering,” he said.

“We should look at what good partnerships we can have with the US. We will talk with President Biden on how we can be continuously assisted. And it covers so many subjects, not just the military that is being discussed nowadays because of the Edca (Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement), but also the economy, tourism, health care, all of them,” he pointed out.
“It’s not only President Biden and me. We have businessmen, we have [officials] from different departments with us so that can really clarify what is really the partnership of the Philippines and the United States,” he said.

America is far away and all this Hopium will boomerang as the American pledges and promises are just talk causing grief and bereavement. And who will bear the grunt of that anger We the Hua Qiao.

So China did end up having to do damage control over the incident. Its as a I said, it runs counter to the MO China has been promoting, diplomacy is a game where you sometimes have to swallow a bitter pill for the sake of professionalism and by extension your country's interests.

Simply put, if you think its as simple as telling countries you don't like to go f themselves, then write a web novel rather than comment on international diplomacy.
I feel it's sad that china had to make a clarification. When was the last time the Europeans had to issue a clarification for all the stuff they do with HK and Taiwan? And the euros had the gall to demand an apology. But when they visit Taiwan or sanction China, they praise themselves.

This just makes it seem like china needs EU approval more so than the EU needs china approval.

This is classic western media. Take something out of context, then when china clarifies, make it look like china is backtracking and caved in.

China should have just doubled down and say it was taken out of context. The eastern European countries are gonna hate China regardless of whatever china does.

Overall china still lacks a strong voice in the international diplomacy and media space.
