The point i was making you brought theoretical figure from wiki without any performance load factor while completely ignoring the capabilities and comfort level of much larger chopper. this evacuation mission surely among the longest mission and there is no evidence smaller choppers are used anywhere for similar duration mission. i would think US and allies in Middleast use US choppers much more extensively in Middleast and Africa than any European chopper. so the confidence on such systems is much higher and they surely are multifunctional. It is completely out of question that any European made or derived chopper will be used for such a mission. Germany had mentioned heavy chopper jointly built with France but they i think dropped it by now and now will have to pay as much as C-17 price.

Maybe all this Superpowa talk by Jai Hinds are not as immodest as we originally thought. Maybe Jai Hind is the ultimate form of democracy and the Indians just beat the Anglos to that final destination and who are just now sitting back and laughing as they watch the Anglos plummet back down to their level.
"Ignoring" what, exactly? Neither do the CH-47 or MH-47 for that matter have the designed range capability to make the distance as claimed without augmenting their fuel capacity and/or IFR, as already stated ad nauseam, and repeated and reinforced by yourself and others.
I don't know how I can say it any more simple than that. You fly an MH-47 without discrete fuel tanks in its hold, it's gonna crash past 1260km. So tell me, how is it gonna make that remaining 340km with an empty tank?

I can't help but the situation between China and the US reminds me of this german song.
I think I remember that was how a few Indians and other Chinese looking people got out of the Ukraine when that conflicted started, the Chinese government got them out. Probably free of charge too.
i am saying these crews are trained on air refueling and long range missions. if smaller choppers have this ability than it would have shown some where. comparison of two very different class of choppers not valid. where price difference even same generation can be 4 times and this high price reflect reliability, comfort, protection and all these add weight hence range penalty. so ranges are not comparable when the capabilities are different. look at Marine 1 why it cost so much.
they are using chopper for refueling tanks than think about how different ways and locations US will be training on these choppers.
Europe is pretty much reduced to an extension of the USA. Especially Eastern Europe. What can I say? Good luck to Baltics, Poland, and Czechia with millions of Ukrainian refugees.
Ukraine war dragging on for multiple years in a quagmire has benefits for China.
1. It distracts the West from fully concentrating on China.
2. It weakens Europe which weakens the overall US+Europe block when they eventually gang up on China.
3. It makes Russia depend on China for its prosperity thus strengthening the Russia-China relationship.

Also indirectly weakens Taiwan by letting Ukraine eat all exports.
