It is completely out of question that any European made or derived chopper will be used for such a mission. Germany had mentioned heavy chopper jointly built with France but they i think dropped it by now and now will have to pay as much as C-17 price.

I don't know how I can say it any more simple than that. You fly an MH-47 without discrete fuel tanks in its hold, it's gonna crash past 1260km. So tell me, how is it gonna make that remaining 340km with an empty tank?

I don't know how I can say it any more simple than that. You fly a MH-47 without discrete fuel tanks in its hold, it's gonna crash past 1260km. So tell me, how is it gonna make that remaining 340km with an empty tank?

i am saying these crews are trained on air refueling and long range missions. if smaller choppers have this ability than it would have shown some where. comparison of two very different class of choppers not valid. where price difference even same generation can be 4 times and this high price reflect reliability, comfort, protection and all these add weight hence range penalty. so ranges are not comparable when the capabilities are different. look at Marine 1 why it cost so much.
they are using chopper for refueling tanks than think about how different ways and locations US will be training on these choppers.

Ukraine war dragging on for multiple years in a quagmire has benefits for China.

1. It distracts the West from fully concentrating on China.
2. It weakens Europe which weakens the overall US+Europe block when they eventually gang up on China.
3. It makes Russia depend on China for its prosperity thus strengthening the Russia-China relationship.

Also indirectly weakens Taiwan by letting Ukraine eat all exports.

Here we thought US wisened up by not doing unwinnable war.

Next up maybe Israel, right after Ukraine. Another 3 years of exhaustion. Then US will find itself having no money, no stockpile, and unable to print itself out of debt. If they are still suicidal on Taiwan be my guest.

I don't know about the USA, but for European militaries replenishing the stocks will take 5+ years at least.
