With respect, this goes totally against the philosophy of the fiscally conservative Swiss.
But the Swiss have already whored themselves out to the Anglos by compromising on Swiss Banking Secrecy, Swiss Banking should just fall on its own sword as the only honourable European thing to do.

Practicality will say that it makes no sense to have tik tok banned which means Tik tok loses the US market and probably other western markets too. That will make Bytedance lose all value they have over tik tok in those markets.

But dignity is also stake, Chinese dignity should be triggered that West will force them to sell a global successful social media platform that showed that even non-western non democratic country can be cool, hip and popular and extremely innovative.
Chinese national pride should be hurt if they capitulate and sell instead of getting banned, becoming a martyr and showing the true face of the west to the world.

I really hope China will stop any kind sale of tik tok. But I am afraid China has shown again again that its willing to surrender, when it bent over backward to do a humiliating trade deal with US under Trump, also recent resumption of trade with Australia when it has made no concession and has started to do open war mongering and even have taken steps to acquire nuclear subs, which probably will lead to nuclear weapons too in the future.

China has simply been too weak and too timid against western attacks. Its good that they are pragmatic. But sometimes when the injustice is so great, you need to take a stand just for the morale of the country, even if it is costly.

I hope they make the right choice.

So where has US actually managed to ever make a breakthrough in the cold war? The trade war led to increased Chinese exports globally. China surpassed America in auto exports and growth is showing no signs of stopping.

As long as US isn't moving at sufficient speed to catch up with China, there is no cause for alarmism.

Beijing always looks at the force multipliers rather than trying to micromanage companies and their private interests like America. And so far, American method has been nothing but failure.

Lol she's still around? Guo had a breakup with her and after which he accused her of being both a CPC agent as well as a "snake demon" (literately he said 蛇精).

Those losers have the most hilarious drama. The most crazy thing is Guo had his fingers in a lot of pies back during Trump days. He was donating money to all the China related think tanks back then, maybe he directly contributed to America coming up with their meme version of China in their heads. Dude also single highhandedly destroyed any remaining credibility among 民运 circles.

It's little wonder people are suspecting maybe he is a CPC agent after all.
