Nuclear weapons are for deterrence, not use. If the other side doesn't know you have thousands of bombs, you might as well not have them. If China already has more than a few hundred nukes, it should be made obvious to the Americans

Yeah but you only push out your deterrence strategy when it's needed. Otherwise you invite retards like Modi to start saying India needs 3000 nukes as well.

Same reason Israel doesn't announce how many nukes they have.

Yep, that's what I heard too.

Also, note the term used in the notice - 军事任务 (military mission), instead of the usual 军事演习 (military exercise).

Something could very well be going on in Bohai...? Perhaps the UUV really does exist?
