Germany as second rate power is media speculation. Germany importance will further increase as decline of France and UK accelerates. Germany can integrate more East Europeans. there is no such thing as P5 taking on Turkey.
I dont think even Korean and Japanese will behave the way they do if there was no European consensus behind it.

The U.S. wants to use the short visit to address persisting disputes ranging from Taiwan to technology and, officials said, intends to stress the Biden administration’s interest in finding areas of potential cooperation.

The Chinese embassy in Washington didn’t respond to a request for comment. Following the incident, the State Department summoned China’s chargé d’affaires in Washington, Xu Xueyuan, “to deliver a very clear and stark message,” a U.S. official told The Wall Street Journal.

Joke's on them, China doesn't have an ambassador to US atm.

I have another theory about the balloon besides my Blinken goes to Beijing and only comes back with a promise from Xi to not send anymore balloons over the continental US. What if China canceled Blinken's trip earlier and the US needed to find an excuse to back out now, hence this whole balloon propaganda.
