Interesting story. A woman leaves Hong Kong to live in London. Within a year she realises her mistake and kills herself. The article describes her as being intelligent, but living your homeland to live in a squalor bedsit in third world London doesn't sound like a decision an intelligent person would make.

Is this the Hong Kong version of Paris syndrome?

I wonder if it was coincidental that the BBC documentary on Modi got released on Jan 17th right before the meeting.

Could the film be a threat by the West, the meeting was a reaction in response to it or both?

When the Ruling Class are a bunch of 70-something men with access to cocaine and viagra, they're going to want a system where they can force more women into prostitution so as to increase their sexual access, in much the same way a government led by ageing feminist spinsters like Sweden pre 2022, will increase immigration from military age men from the middle east and africa. We really are no different from our chimp cousins in this respect.

China relationship with Russia is none of the US business. These lunatics think they can both sanction China, incite tensions in Taiwan Strait and ask China to not have good relationship with Russia. More importantly, relationship between the US and China is as bad as it can be. And China standing in the world is great except with the imperial West and its allies.
Nuland said that even before the invasion, the administration has had intense conversations with China “with regard to their relationship with Russia.” President Xi Jinping has avoided criticizing Russia over the war but has also offered to play a role in peace talks and come out against the use of nuclear weapons in the conflict.

“We’ve made clear that we will bring to their attention when we see sanctions violations by their companies,” Nuland said. “And we’ve been very clear with regard to the impact on our relationship and their standing in the world.”

All of this sanctimonious grandstanding by western nations is the 21st century equivalent of the Qing Dynasty "Tremblingly Obey" letter signifying how out of touch these Atlanticists really are.

Definitely not a coincidence, and it wasn't just the documentary. There's been a few politicians who have attacked India for buying Iranian and Russian oil. There was also the report that released about India's richest man being a fraud. This is a multi pronged attack by the west on India, and it looks like the Indians are realising its more dangerous to be a friend of the west than an enemy.

I'm no fan of Modi or Indians in general but bringing up something that happened 20 years ago is stupid. Countless western leaders have shaken Modi's hand and shared a platform with him in the intervening years, now all of a sudden they're concerned about a few thousand Indian Muslims that were killed 20 years ago? What about the millions of Iraqis, Afghans, Syrians and Libyans that NATO have killed much more recently?

People with knowledge always point out that China help save the us from the 2009 financial crisis and world economy, the Chinese need to ask themselves , will the US offer to save China in a similar situation in the future?

The UK is well on its way towards becoming the Thailand of Western Europe. In a few years, we'll see the women there be the ones shouting “me so horny. me love you long time.” to Asian tourists on the streets.
