I don't know much about NZ history standing up to US, I do know these are special times with US fighting a cold war against china. Even her much bigger neighbour has succumbed to US completely. Both US and Aus have exerted huge pressure on her. She even attended a secretive meeting in US earlier on.

She may be headed for defeat but to me she isn't the type of person to just surrender without even trying unless it is about going against the US and their gang which will be very draining even for her.

As for any new PM or after the Oct election later this year, I wouldn't worry too much, kiwis are pragmatic and we're too dependent on trading with China. Any PM won't last long if they toe the US line too much at the expense of the economy.

When I was doing CFD trading/spread betting a few years back a Kiwi told me that the value of the NZ$ was basically determined by the price of milk products in China.

I know everyone wants to make fun of his salary but let’s be realistic here. Does anyone think he actually works a 9 to 5 job at the think tank. Probably comes into the office once every month for 1 hour for a “meeting” with the CEO in the break room.
