Welt: Ukraine expects $2 billion from the European Union monthly
Ukraine is seeking large sums of money from Germany and the EU to finance the state against the background of military operations, writes German newspaper Die Welt.
According to World Bank estimates, the damage caused to the Ukrainian economy, including the closure of enterprises and unemployment, ranges from $200 billion to $250 billion.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal at the German-Ukrainian conference on the restoration of the country estimated the financial needs for the restoration of the country at $ 750 billion. As the Ukrainian side notes, they need $4-5 billion a month from the West.
"We believe that Germany can take on about $500 million a month, primarily with a view to 2023. From the EU as a whole, we hope for about $2 billion a month," Alexander Rodnyansky, adviser to President Vladimir Zelensky on economic issues, said in an interview with German media.
