On one hand, West is supporting a democratic transition in Venezuela.
On another hand, West is supporting a monarchist transition in Iran.
and finally, some Western country is supporting annexation of a democratic country.

Make it all make sense for me...
When has it not made sense: they're the same colonial savages they always were and will always be, it's the fundamental nature of their culture.

Frankly speaking what they think or say doesn't matter at this point.

What matters is coming up with hard ways to counter them. That part is hard because you're not doing some simple good or evil stuff like a Marvel movie anymore. It requires real knowledge, problem solving skills and of course the will and ability to actually implement it.

Israel is literally going full mask off now and proving all their haters were right about Jews. But so what? They got money and Trump is acting like Bibi's biatch. You have to come up with real analysis now to fight them and thats quite hard. This is why Arab states all combined still get their asses handed to them by Israel coz they do not know how to come up with a proper way to deal with Israel that really hurts it.

Same game its always been. Destabilized countries are less of a threat. And there is always an autocrat somewhere that wants more, whether rational or not. So... destabilize your enemies and at the same time, try to gather more allies. And hope that the unstable people in power don't have a large blast radius when they inevitably go down (looking at you America).

The biggest question becomes who are the good guys, with the power, that will stop all of this.

Trump's treatment of and policies towards any given country can largely depend on his personal sentiments toward that country's leaders, in particular whether Trump feels that they've accorded him with the respect that he feels he is entitled to.

So if you're a sitting head of state or government, and you enjoy mocking Trump as the former president of a certain Latin American country did:

Or openly criticizing Trump as the current supreme leader of a certain Middle Eastern country continues to do so:

Or just happens to

, which is known to laugh at and joke about Trump:

Then there's going to be risk that your country will find itself on the receiving end of some "freedom and democracy" by way of JDAMs and Tomahawks.

Trump only respects power.
He knows who he can bully and who he should never provoke.
If Russia suffers setbacks in the Ukraine conflict, Putin will face the same fate as Khamenei.
If China proves vulnerable in the trade war, Xi Jinping will become like Modi, a target of Trump's daily ridicule.
Venezuela was attacked by the US simply because it was too weak. If Venezuela had shown even a shred of resistance, I believe Trump would have hesitated at least a moment before ordering the attack.

I live in Japan. There’s been absolutely no coverage from any mainstream media, not even a faint hint, about restrictions beyond rare earths. It’s as if those 167 pages of documents simply don’t exist.
Also, Minister of State for Economic Security, Minister Onoda, seems not to even understand what rare earths elements are.

And on top of that, news about an experimental research vessel heading to “Minamitorishima,” about 2,000 km from Tokyo and in 6,000-meter deep waters, to attempt a trial RE extraction from the seabed has been pushed very widely, as if it’s some miracle cure that will solve Japan’s rare-earth shortage by next month.

They don't seem to realize that extraction is the easy part. Refining is the real challenge.

Turns out critical thinking isn’t the only problem. The brain is fully smooth.
I mean, y'all really gotta take a look at the r/Teachers subreddit.
We got:
- Teachers getting murdered
- Teachers getting assaulted
-

- Teachers getting sexually harassed
- LGBT and random bullshit
- Students struggling at basic math
- School shootings
- Poor wages for teachers
- Trump shennanigans
- Parents begging teachers to raise their child's grades cause they're failing
- Political bullshit
- AI
- Jeff

Honestly I just sit back and read and see the US descend into idiocracy. Its simply a matter of time.

I doubt it. I think they don't want panic, so they don't mention the other restrictions but rare earths are well-known to be China's noose for poorly behaved countries so they have to talk about it, then dismiss it as best they can to prevent panic in the people as they try to negotiate out of this with China without politically killing Takaichi.

This is pretty common sense stuff, the issue has always been who wants to put up the money.

We see that issue with the shipbuilding industry already. To employ all the people with know how, buy the equipment, etc. Guarantees are supposed to be made, but the class is cancelled anyway (LCS, Zumwalt, now Constellation) and no one wants to invest. There is hope that the South Koreans will as a form of tribute, but there are no assurances that the government will not turn on them (Hyundai motor ICE raid)

EDIT:
Also adding, the drone restrictions were not lifted. DJI still cannot import new models, just sell and service old ones. US will Cuba for drones and not just cars.
