Americans haven't figured out they're trapped in a logical fallacy: it's not that China is the most successful at building small drones, and it's not that America need to figure out how to do the same - China IS mass produced small drones, the very concept only exist because Chinese industry exist, because there exist a country on earth with a fully supply chain and have it in the scale China does, the very concept would have never existed without China.
Drones is one of those things, which include most things these days, where the only way for America to match China is to become China, and population alone make that impossible, nevermind the meritocratic culture and the long-term institutional planning.
It may be more to do with the ban of exporting battery and EV techs. Although the ban was triggered by EU's act of forcing tech transfer but the regulation applies to everyone.
The White House would be screwed because they would have to refund a lot of money to US companies.
If certain tariffs are eliminated, will Chinese goods gain or lose comparative advantage?
The irony is to defeat Chinese one has to become Chinese which defeats the idea of defeat Chinese.
