Honestly it makes sense why the CIA installed Takaichi in Japan as it was the last cry of the weaboo in trying to maintain white American primacy in east Asia. Japan is to the US what India was to the British empire .
The funniest thing so far from this episode is Trump saying some allies are not friends and worse than China, then pulling out Typhon missile system.

He's got the whole "get away from me, I don't want any blood on my suit when shit goes down" vibe going on.

Hard to think the country that birthed Toyota and Sony is now on par with Spain and Thailand in terms of reliance on tourism for GDP.

Not as surprising perhaps is that despite this reality, they're willing to scuttle it for the sake of pride. What would be surprising indeed is if the Japanese actually swallowed their pride, that's how you know something's funny in their water.

China still winning major Israeli infrastructure deals
Dalia Energy recently signed planning, procurement and construction agreements with three Chinese companies, CHEC, HEI and THCC, for the construction of two power plants. The agreements include the construction of the Dalia 2 power plant at the Tzafit site, with a NIS 3.8 billion budget, and the Eshkol Avshel power plant at the Eshkol power plant site, with a NIS 3.3 billion budget.

On government tenders, a process is underway in which investments by Chinese companies are examined by the Foreign Investment Review Committee, which has blocked several investments by Chinese companies in Israel in recent years. However, they have found a back door to enter investments in critical facilities by signing agreements with private companies, such as Dalia.

Japan has no vigor for life. They are still basically a person who's locked himself in his room following a defeat, except he has to accept American rape once in a while while in there. So to this depressed person, what's a few points on GDP anyway? Their economy is in long term recession/stagnation, demographics on the decline, losing industries to Chinese competition, still militarily occupied with American military members bullying Japanese in Japan. There are literally lots of places that once hosted life and hope that are now abandoned with empty houses selling for but a few thousand dollars and no willing buyers. Their whole country is slowing sinking into the ocean. In this life, what's there to work for? There's no mission, no visible path to victory. So threaten to take his lunch money laid out on his desk; he doesn't really care, won't even get up out of bed for it. Just wants you to take it an leave him alone. And yet, he must provoke you when his American master orders him to.

You guys ever notice how Japan is basically hostile to foreigners while China is inviting and yet, these foreigners typically have a significantly more positive image of Japan than China? It's because interactions are all about power dynamic. Everybody enjoys interaction from a favorable power dynamic and draws back from unfavorable ones. Japan truly does not like foreigners because they have nothing to show off and are deep down, still ashamed of their defeats. Foreigners like Japanese because they feel superior when in Japan. "What a cute little place with polite culture and clean streets," says the American, subconsiously proud that his nation's bombers and aircraft carriers conquered this territory. On the other hand, travelling to China is often a humbling experience for foreigners, genuinely terrified that if they were to collide with this world, theirs would be destroyed by its technology and power. That's why China's so proud to show it off and welcome foreigners while the most anti-China foreigners are scared to go, often under the excuse that there's no freedom, but deep down, they know that they will be made to feel insignificant. And then there's the economic aspect of it. China takes the money we earn from tourism and invests it into building our technology, military and society so that we grow even stronger. What does Japan do with tourism money? Nothing of importance. Japan has no national goal or projects towards that goal that would be well-served by that money. They'd rather have the serenity of being left alone and to be unbothered by the condescendence of those who defeated them.

When China built itself up, we did a lot of things that weren't emotionally satisfying, made a lot of deals and trades we aren't proud of, but everytime it seems we let a foreigner walk over us, it was a willful sacrifice because we needed something from him to help achieve our dream of one day becoming the world's most powerful nation and to be greater than him. I know I said that people like to interact in favorable power dynamics and withdraw from unfavorable ones but China truly forced ourselves out of our comfort zone by interacting for decades from an unfavorable power dynamic with Westerners because we had our eyes on the prize and were ready to suffer for it. We took our insults and bruises and smiled resiliently because we could see the light at the end of the tunnel and that light gave us vigor for life and the will to fight through adversity and make sacrifices, whatever was needed for greatness. There is no light for Japan. Threaten to destroy them and they don't care because they're still trapped in a post-war purgatory.

Japan has always been psychologically tethered due to geography.

(Sorry to link a CIA source)

Because they don't have land routes that expose them to large numbers of outside cultures and ideas that challenge internal perceptions of themselves, almost on a continuous revolving basis, like a major land power does, they lack the capability to "get out of their comfort zone" since they feel like they can always retreat to their little island fortress to get away from the noise of the outside. Unfortunately for them, their little island sanctuary has an outside monster that has intruded and made themselves nice and cozy and right at home.

(Yes, I fully admit that the Ming Dynasty in China greatly misused this geographical gift that China had which led to all the eventual strife and suffering)

The price for being in that position is to be made into a bitch. Such is the fate Japan has earned the moment it did all that crap in China but never apologize. Seriously China should milk this for all it is worth and then take the names of any moron who dates to pull the defense of democracy card just so they can be painfully dealt with at chinas convenience, the time for China to play nice has finally come to an end

I have Japanese family which I love, but totally agree with what China is doing, the only long term future for Japan is to be part of the Asian world, and to integrate socially, economically and strategically with their fellow Asians, and a full an sincere apology for all their crimes

Japan’s renewed sovereignty push over disputed Liancourt Rocks irks South Korea, China

China has responded to the row at a media briefing, urging Japan to ‘seriously reflect on its history of aggression’

A Japanese cabinet minister has reiterated his country’s claim to Liancourt Rocks, known as Takeshima in Japan and Dokdo in South Korea, after Seoul protested against a new museum wing promoting Tokyo’s sovereignty over the islets.

“Under international law, Takeshima is clearly an inherent part of Japan’s territory,” Japan’s Minister in Charge of Territorial Issues Jiro Akama said at a press conference on Tuesday, according to Kyodo news agency.

“We will work to strengthen the dissemination of messages at home and abroad with the exhibition hall as a base,” added Akama, who is also chairman of the National Public Safety Commission.

The islets have been a constant source of friction between Japan and South Korea since the end of World War II. Japan annexed the islands from Korea in 1905 and went on to colonise all of the peninsula in 1910.

After the war, South Korea regained de facto control of the islets, which the Japanese call an “illegal occupation”, according to a booklet by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Politicians of both countries have brought up the issue sporadically.

During the recent campaign to pick Japan’s next prime minister, Sanae Takaichi said a cabinet minister should be present to observe “Takeshima Day”, the Japan Times reported. Held in Shimane prefecture every February 22, the ceremony highlights Japan’s position of sovereignty over the islets.

“Ideally, a minister should go proudly on behalf of the government,” she said on September 27, as quoted by the Asahi Shimbun newspaper. “There is no need to worry about how the other side sees it.”

Soon after Takaichi took office as prime minister, on October 31, Tokyo cancelled a plan to allow Seoul’s military jets to refuel at a base in Okinawa after learning that Korean Air Force planes, including the Black Eagles, had recently flown near the contested islets.

“This only confirms that [South] Korea and Japan aren’t even capable of doing something as basic as this,” one Japanese defence ministry official told the Asahi Shimbun.

On Friday, tensions flared up again when Takaichi’s administration opened a new wing at the National Museum of Territory and Sovereignty in Tokyo’s Chiyoda ward.

The wing features a three-sided screen, seating areas and a wall display of books related to territorial issues, according to the Korea JoongAng Daily. It also houses digital copies of historical charts and documents.

That same day, South Korea’s foreign affairs ministry spokesman Lee Jae-ung issued a statement expressing “strong regret” and urging the closure of the facility, the newspaper reported. The ministry also summoned the charge d’affaires from the Japanese embassy in Seoul to lodge a protest.

National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik criticised the museum in a social media post on Monday.

“Despite our continued demands for closure since its initial opening in 2018, it was reopened in April and recently even added an educational space,” Woo wrote, as quoted by the Chosun Biz. “It appears to be an attempt to implant a wrong perception in students, the future generation.”

In an unusual move, China also expressed its position on the issue in response to a reporter’s question on Monday.

“We urge Japan to seriously reflect on its history of aggression, to adhere to the path of peace, and to win the trust of neighbouring Asian countries and the international community through concrete actions,” foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a regular briefing, as quoted by the Chosun Biz.

The newspaper also confirmed on Wednesday that China’s leading portal sites, such as Baidu, and artificial intelligence services were labelling the islets as Dokdo, effectively recognising them as South Korean territory.
